Mission Statement
The mission of the Communications Division of the Johnson County, Kansas
Sheriff’s Office is the safety and welfare of the citizens and officers we
serve. We receive emergency and non-emergency calls for service and relay them
to the appropriate officer or agency so they can quickly and safely serve the
needs of the public.
We are the point of contact for emergency services (police, fire and ambulance)
in the unincorporated areas of Johnson County and the cities of
DeSoto, Edgerton,
Fairway, Gardner,
Lake Quivira, Merriam, Olathe,
Mission,
Roeland Park, Spring
Hill, Westwood, as well as the
Johnson County Park Police. In cases where fire or ambulance response
is needed, we immediately relay the call to the Johnson County Emergency
Communications Center.

Welcome to Dispatch
The Johnson
County Sheriff’s Office operates a primary public-safety answering
point (dispatch center) located in the Johnson County District
Courthouse in Olathe. Our agency dispatches police services for
the Sheriff’s Office (including the cities of DeSoto and
Edgerton), the Park Police and the city police departments noted
above. Fire and ambulance calls are routed to the Emergency
Communications Center located at 6000 Lamar in Mission. Dispatch
handled approximately 214,600 phone calls (both emergency and
non-emergency) in 2006. Over 50,000 calls for service were
dispatched in that same year.
