Welcome

The Sheriff’s Warrant Division is primarily charged with searching out, detecting and apprehending persons wanted by written order of the Johnson County District Court.

Currently, there are approximately 9500 active Felony, Misdemeanor and Civil arrest warrants maintained by the unit. The Warrant Division is also tasked with attempting arrest warrants within Johnson County from other agencies nationwide as well as coordinating the extradition efforts of fugitives wanted by the Johnson County District Court who have been located outside the State of Kansas.

The unit is currently staffed by one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, six Deputies and three Clerical Staff. Of those six Deputies, one is assigned full time to the F.B.I.’s Dangerous Crimes Fugitive Task Force. The task force officers have federal jurisdiction and primarily focus their efforts on Kansas City’s most dangerous fugitives.

Last year, the Warrant Division received approximately 9300 active arrest warrants for service. Approximately 9000 warrants were returned to the issuing courts due to apprehension of the wanted person or for other reasons orderd by the court.

If you have any information concerning the whereabouts, or any other information concerning a wanted person please call (913) 791-5212.
