Barricaded Subject Taken into Custody without Incident

Gardner, Kan. – Deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office along with Gardner Police Officers were able to take a person into custody without incident at 10:15 a.m. after a several hour stand-off. The person taken into custody is a 40 year old, white male who lives at the residence where the stand-off occurred.

Gardner Police Department officers and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of a barricaded subject in the 32500 Block of W. 174th Terrace at approximately 6:10 a.m. this morning. Coordination between the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Gardner Police Department and the Olathe Police Department resulted in a peaceful resolution.

The identity of the suspect will be made available once he has been charged.
