Approximately 18,000 individuals are processed through the Johnson County Detention
Centers in a given year. A majority of these individuals are released upon posting
bail, however the remainder of the detainee population is held in custody awaiting
judicial review. To ensure security and safety of the detainees, an objective Classification
process is utilized to determine their appropriate housing assignment.
