Community Advisory Relations Board
Community Advisory Relations Board
The Community Advisory Relations Board (CARB) was created to improve and maintain a respectful and trusting relationship between the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the community it serves.
The vision of the CARB is to reflect the diverse population served by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and assist/review various issues faced by Sheriff’s Office personnel and the community. The CARB provides insight into perceptions of law enforcement and biased policing, and provides an avenue for dialogue between the community and the Sheriff’s Office.
These stakeholders, who live or work in Johnson County, include non-profit and corporate partners, as well as members of various social and faith based communities.
Being active members of the community, the CARB may receive input regarding public safety issues from others in the community. CARB members can direct the person or issue to the appropriate contact within the Sheriff’s Office for assistance.
Multicultural and Community Engagement events are other ways in which the CARB engages various ethnicities and nationalities on crime prevention, personal safety and other police communications.
The CARB meets bi-annually or as needed. The current members include:
Jim Terrones | Rasul Iskander | Raul Duran | Carol Wei | Jimmy Gaona |
Darnell Hunt | Beth Guerra | Rajesh Gupta | Valerie Johnson | |
Geri Reece | Jay Holbert | Rizvend Pecana | Val Baul |
The staff liaison is Detective Jesse Valdez II. He can be reached at 913-715-5220 or [email protected].
